The progress of an organization or any business entity depends upon the way information is disseminated among the respective members – who belong to that particular organization or company. Intranet has made this process so simple and easier that we have been witnessing a paradigm shift – the way information has been used in a well defined manner. While Internet connects the entire world, Intranet software has been specifically designed for a particular office or company.
You can say that Intranet is just another extension of Internet on a smaller scale. In fact, most of the common protocols such as FTP, HTTP and SMTP, which are used in Internet, does come handy in creating an Intranet design. So far, Intranet has established its efficacy across the world, as you have got a highly useful system in place, which can be used to share the information among the employees.
